Has anybody played with these yet? I have a 8 X 8 X 32 HP- 9150 that I can seemlingly not record on these? Is there something really stupid that I am doing? Or is it that this recorder can not record on these? I've changed the default timeout to 98 min. And still "No Cigar"? Any help???

First thing is to check and see what the speeds of the CDR's can handle. Can they handle the 8x speed of your burner ? Being they are the new CDR's out, maybe the speeds of the CDR's can only handle slower speeds at this time. Try slowing your burning process down.

I've bought some. I have an HP burner too, and most of the CD burning programs I use (Nero, CDRWIN, Disc Juggler) don't seem to like these. Feurio Cd writer is the only program that works with these CDs (up to 89 mins), but this is kind of useless since Feurio only burns audio CDs.

It sounds like the HP burner may be the problem. I have a Yamaha 2100e that burns them fine but not to 99 minutes. I also just picked up an LG 8x at Best Buy for $49 net after rebates that burns them fine to their max.
edit-
I should add that I use Nero 5.5.3.5 with overburning enabled.

hey lafman,
what exactly do u mean by, "I can seemlingly not record on these"?
does it actually begin and fail at a certain point?
does it never begin and generate some error?
is there an error message? -
I have a HP 9100i (even though the box said 9150) and I can burn audio or VCD's all the up to 99min. I use NERO 5.5.3.5. I also burn them at 8x speed with no probs.

I have a plex 12x10x32 which burns up to 98min 10sec I also have a mitsumi 4804 and burn all the way up to and inc 99min no problems ,it probably depends on your firmware as well I had to flash the mitsumi to overburn.

What I mean when I say "It seemingly doesn't record" is that I have a couple movies that are 92 min long (TombRaider) in Divx. Using Nero 5.5.4. I enable 98 minutes, and let it do "it's thing" of encoding a VCD. As you know this takes several hours. So I do it at night. I come back in the morning...No error message, nothing recorded? Disc is still "virgin" Really has me baffled?

When I overburn onto CompUSA 99min Cd-r's using Nero 5.5.4.0 I get an error saying there is not enough room on the disk and then the program ejects the disk, If you just re insert the cd-r then Nero will take it and ask if you want to continue with the overburn. Nero 5.5.3.5 did not do this but then I upgraded and now have this problem, just a pain in the ass really.

Hi NEXT.
I have a LG 8x4x32 too, and have no problems burning 99min Divx movies (863mb) with the LG. I am using 99min cdrs from http://www.disc4you.com and Nero 5518.
My problems occur when i try to read the discs with a DVD-Rom or the LG Burner. This dont work properly. An ordinary CD-Rom player have no problems. Whats your experiece?
