Can someone tell me if this is a catch or a "flipper" disc. I see the company has noted it as a new product. Has any tried and can verify how these are if they are a true 9.4 Gb discs, non-flipper.

If it was a single sided disk with two layers, it would store more like 8.4GB, not 9.4GB. Something about sending light through aluminum and still reading the data reliably convinced engineers to use a larger pitch for the double layer disks.
