  1. Can anyone tell me how can I burn VCD to CDR-80minutes using Nero?
The problem is, that this isn't the standard VCD.
    I've got 2 files mpeg-1.
The first one 80 minutes time and 800MB size, bitrate video CBR - burns without any problems.
The second one 88 minutes and - watch this: 780MB size, bitrate video VBR - and here begins my problem, Nero says, that there is not enough space on media.
How can it be, that Nero had enough space for 800MB, but didn't for 780MB?

  2. If you can really burn 80 min. max of VCD to cdr700mb, then what is the point of lowering video bitrate during compresion of mpg?
It doesn't matter whether the bitrate will have normally 1150kbps or let's say 1000kbps or 900kbps, because we can only burn 80 min. of VCD.
Cutting down the bitrate should allow us burning longer (according to time) VCD, so why doesn't it?

I'm not up on nero, I use VCDEasy and have no problems.

The only suggestion I have is to make sure that nero is set for non-compliant VCD.

  5. mmmmm.
I`m really just in the business and have to say ..Nero is excellent.
Vcdeasy is a bit funny or ecdcr mmm.for audio yes..
Anyway what you have to do is or buy good media(nero doesnt read tat the media is 80 min or 100 min long) and will give the error.
Another option is to just cut it with tmpgenc while you`re gonna encode.
I hope you donīt encode with nero because it will drasticly desimprove the quality.
Tmpgenc is it for encoding ,no doubt ..!!
I mean whats the problem with using 2 cds ...??
So really, you`re problem is no problem,no?(huh)

  6. i am thinking that nero is trying to burn the file as data and that will only allow the 700mb.
try fireburner or crwin or vcdeasy or tscv and see if you get the same results

  7. Ok.
I want to fit 90-100mins VCD to a single 80min CDR.
    How should I set TMPG?

  8. There must be some misunderstanding eather you don't get my point or I don't get yours.
That's why I want to show you what I set and want you to tell me what I do wrong.

    1.

    2.

With these sets I get mpg bigger than I want.

I think your problem is that you are trying to burn Variable-bitrate mpeg on a VCD, its not a valid VCD. You need to convert your file to constant bitrate if you want it to be a real VCD.

The key to getting more video on a CD is to adjust the bitrate to fit. This guide will help: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/84759.php Skip to the part about opening TMPGEnc in the guide. 2-pass VBR will give the best quality. You need to set your high, low and most importantly average bitrate. The average sets the file size, adjust it to fill the disk. Try 300 low, 1150 high to start. Like DVO says, it is a non-compliant VCD (called an XVCD) and will not be accepted by all DVD players.

  11. on Nero anyway The VCD setting will burn 80 mins .So even though the file is less than 800mbs the VCD setting still sees 80 as a full disc.
You can re-encode with Nero (takes about an hour on my set up) to fit it on(has worked for me) or you might be able to write to an image and then overburn it (I've done this too although not as big as an 88 min vid).

Yes, uncheck the "check for compliance" box(es) or you get lots of error messages.

To anyone using Nero to convert your video: Don't, it's crap.

I don't use Nero to convert, I use Tmpg to do it.
My problem is, that when I set 'System stream type' on 'VCD non-standard' like this pic

final mpg is too big (its size is 880MB).
But when I set 'System stream type' on 'VCD System VBR' - final mpg is correct - size is 780MB - so the size which was expected, but then Nero says, that there is not enough space on media.

    Help !!!

TMPGEnc 2.59 had a bug which set the bitrate to the VCD standard, 1150, when VCD non-standard was selected. If that's what you've got then get the latest version.
