I am in Australia (PAL) and have a digital Video Cam and I want to capture film and use Stuido 8 to capture and make it into a SVCD and send it to a mate int he USA (NTSC)... now when I make a SVCD should I capture in NTSC even tho the original film is PAL or do I capture it in PAL and then edit it with TMPGENC which I will have to read up on... then burning it with Nero I think there is a PAL/NTSC section in there as well (dont hold me to that)...
Any help would be great

Your Digital Video camera will be PAL or NTSC (most likeley PAL). You don't 'capture' from a DV cam in the traditional sense, you transfer the data via firewire to your PC and the 'capture' software will warp it in an avi file format. This is where you do your editing, saving your edited footage once again as DV AVI.
Once you have your final footage in an avi file, you can encode to mpeg and change the framerate and standard to NTSC in a few easy steps. There are guides on doing this in the convert section.
Hope this helps
