  1. Hi

Sorry to bother you all, but I was wondering if anyone could help me here! I have started to reencode a lot of AVI releases to svcd for my parents, so they can watch them on their DVD player. Unfortunatley everytime I use Tmpgenc (espeically in 2 pass mode) it says it can;t write to a memory address and then crashes on me, or just simply closes with no warning. This only ever happenes when I have another encoding program on my PC too, but unfortunatley I need to have Ulead VideoStudio on my comp too, as I use it to edit wedding videos for a friend of mine! If I ever try to install any other encoding prgram, it also seems to stop Tmpgenc working, and I usilly have to reinstall the whole of Windows XP to get Tmpgenc to work again (although even that didn;t wor this time)!

I would really appreciate any help anyone could give me with this, as it is really starting to annoy me. Havign to resinstall windows XP every week is getting to be just a slight pain!

Oh, by the way, it works fine if just encoding to VCD!

  2. I cannot help but i can say that as i am reading this i have the same problem replicated and i also have Ulead videostudio and ulead DVD factory. I have various issues such as incorrect pointer, error at address and eventually the screen going blank and my MPEG2 file playing back blank, even down to PC shutting down.

Have you tried it without ULEAD products and what were the results. if you have not tried it i will uninstall and give it a whirl

  3. Hi, well I managed to find a cure for this problem, without having to reinstall Windows! It's apparently down to the Codec packs that are installed (things like Nimo, Xvid, etc), and the simple cure is to go to doom9.org and downloading the DivX codec (I don;t understand why it works,, but whatever it does fixes it, he he) called Gordian Knot! Run that, then uninstall Tmpgenc, and reinstall it again, and everything should work fine!
