VCDEasy 1.1.5 does not start - produces 5 error messages...

Hi there,

after installing the new version of the Windows Media Player VCDEasy 1.1.4 was complaining about the missing Media Player, so reinstalled the Media Player (Version 9.00.00.2980). When I tried to start VDCEasy I got a lot of errors. So I installed VCDEasy 1.1.5, but I still get the same errors. Here they are:

1) Exception "unknown software error" (0x0eedfade) ...
2) Exception EOleSysError in module VCDEasy.exe at 000EF7DE library not registered
3) Access violation at address 77885C41 in module 'ntdll.dll'. Write of address 00000010
4) a read error at 0x00ff3e60
5) runtime error 216 at 0040454E


Anyone else with this problem? Any solutions?
This looks like problems with the new Windows Media Player.

I have Media Player (Version 9.00.00.2980) and VCDEasy 1.1.4.
As recently as Sunday I burnt a VCD, no problems.

I have downloaded VCDEasy 1.1.5 and while it has some neat features, I'm kinda chicken to install it. Haven't heard much feedback and I don't want to risk breaking VCDEasy 1.1.4.

I'm using Win98 SE with all critical updates. You don't mention which operating system you are using. Maybe therein lies the problem?

My operating system is Windows 2000 with the latest service pack.

I'm encountering exactly the same phenomenon, also in the same environment (Win 2000, Windows Media Player, etc...).

I just downloaded the last freeware version, and I am getting the same five errors... please help!

I have same problem. I was running vcdeasy 1.1.5 great with wmp 9.00.00.3008 , but i installed 1.1.52 (no nagger) and then it hung on start up waiting until it came up with error message saying media player was not installed. So i reinstalled wm9. Then I didn't get the media player error, but rather that vcdeasy had encountered an error and had to close.

Oh and by the way I am using XP home 5.1 service pack 1)
AAAhhhhh!!! So I tried uninstalling and cleaning out registry with norton system works, and reinstalling.... no go.

Then I did the same thing again and reinstalled 1.1.4. No go either!

Then I installed 1.1.2 and then it works. But now i can't preview the mpeg files to easy make chapter entry points. So now i am using another product the larger more clumsy dvd movie factory in the mean time until this great program can run again.

So, lets pray this little issue can be resolved.
