  1. dloaded sweet flick i really want to watch on the tube and copy for pals. i try to convert with tmpgenc and every time it says it has encountered a problem and must close at the very end! right when it goes to start to encode it seems as though its gonna start then it gives me the win xp message saying it encountered a prob.
i identified the file as a ms mpeg4 v-3 mpeg layer 3 it says in the identifier.

Open the file with GSpot (find it in the TOOLS section). It will tell you if you have the necessary codecs installed to properly decode/re-encode the avi.

Start there. If the problem persists, you may need to change your TMPGenc settings. You should also know that most encoders are very sensitive to things like an overly aggressive bios configuration (need for speed...). Overclocking will net you alot of crashes with encoders.
Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
