  5. Hi Thomas,

    Just checked out your tutorial.

To be quite honests...I'm a die-hard Mac fanatic (I was 'there' back in '96 when EVERYONE was ditching the Mac!).

However...until someone writes an app like DVDSHRINK for the Mac...it's simply not worth going through all the steps. To rip/encode a DVD should take no more than 1 hour tops (30min to rip/encode, 15-30min to burn to DVD).

Most importantly, the whole process should be done with just basic, but efficient app with only a few clicks of the mouse.

I'm still blown away over DVDSHRINK, that app is going to change the world!

    Just my 2-cents.

  6. Hi!

I have now got some comments and questions about the tutorial, and some people seem to have a hard time understanding the ripping and cropping part.

I will try add a bit more info to the ripping and cropping part, because some people don't understand that they have to press "Begin" in OSEx to start ripping. And some people also don't understand that they are not supposed to do anything else in MacMPEG2Decoder than checking what will be the best crop settings.

One more thing, as I say in the tutorial. If your .avi file of the test chapter is a "littel" bit out of sync, don't worry, this will be fixed when you rip and encode the whole DVD If the sound REALLY is out of sync in the .avi test chapter file, double check that you chose the right frames pr second!

  7. to be quite honest i think that using forty-two is a lot easyier. i mean all you have to do is look at a pretty gui while it works. a little dragging a couple clicks and your set. using many prgams is a thing of the past unfortunatly

  12. Yes it is working. I just haven't posted in my blog for some time now. I have set my blogs to go into the archive after 7 days. I'm going to remove my blog, and setup a new page.
