  1. Hi people, I just instaled my new Fire Wire card but I dont know to use it so I have some questions for you, hope you will help me:

    1. What is the best software I should use to capture with fire wire-can I use Adobe Premiere or something more easily?

    2. Do I get sound with Fire Wire or just picture and sound I have to conect with sound blaster?

    3. Is there any special settings for capturing using 1394 such:compresion, picture format or its just simply -press Capture button and thats all

    4. What kind of format is that-the captured file captured with Fire Wire and is there any field like in capture cards, something like" Upper field and lower field.

    5. Is the captured quality same as original.

Thabk you for answers, if I stuck somewhere I will ask for more help.

  2. 1) there are lot of video software that can capture DV, there is no best one. Just make sure you use NTFS partition (Window 2K, XP) or else you are limited to 4GB file size (18 mins of video)
    2) you get DV AVI which contains both video and audio
    3) no special setting, just capture in DV format
    4) no upper/lower field
    5) yes, it's essential a data copy from DV tape to hard disk.

  3. Ok, thank you man,
I tryed to start Movie Capture in Adobe Premiere without DV device on the end of cable-No DVD device conected, and when I started Movie Capture using 1394-there was a message-Could not load capture device, -I quess this is normal when you dont have DV camera, just cable in Fire Wire card.

Then I just started some Dvio or something-and it looks for AVI file-what this mean-If I conect DV camera, using Dvio-what AVI file I have to select to capture from DV camera?

    Thanks
