  1. I bought a few DVD concerts and am interested in burning cd's for the audio only portion. I have tried to use TMPenc, but having difficulty getting it to do what I want (I probably need more time to learn the program)
There must be a relatively easy way to do this- appreciate any help.
    Thanks

I did this once - Ripped (was it SmartRipper? Either that or DVDDecrypter)the DVD in chapter mode (got 1 VOB/tune), then ran DVD2AVI on each decrypted VOB to get a nice WAV (that I then compressed to MP3, but that's another story). You'll probably have to do 48 to 44.1 kHz downsampling before creating your audio CD.

    Hi,

I use dvddecrypter in strem mode, splitting my chapter (so you can get a file for each song). Then run besweet in batch mode to convert the .vob files to .wav.

    Good Luck!

I used Mats method using Smartripper to grab the soundtrack of Tommy and Xanadu from the DVD out to MP3 format for my iPod

    worked great!

  5. Thanks for the replies. I tried using DVD2avi, but my sound is all messed up when it finishes. I'm sure I haven't used the right settings-
I selected 48000-44000 and decoded to WAV (AC3 LPCM). Should I have used "Demux" instead? Any other settings I need to use to rip the audio to a Wav?

No, that sounds about right - How "messed up" does it turn out? Only difference from what I did is that I didn't downsample to 44.1. Maybe DVD2AVI has problems with this?

  7. Messed up to the point I can't hear anything but high pitched squeals and cracking sounds- nothing legible

Try just demux, then do the ac3 to wav decoding with headac3he (or other ac3towav converter). Something's wrong here?!?
