i would like to ask about free nle's for linux the following:
1.
is there one (nle) that can create temporary files like pinnacle studio does. the way i understand it most nle's create temporary intermediate versions for files you import . so that the nle works with intra frame audio and video like for instance prores.
BUT
does kdenlive (for instance, running in say mint linux) have that functionality? or is this something you would only find in paid for nle's like vegas studio or final cut pro?
thank you

I have never used Pinnacle Studio, but https://docs.kdenlive.org/en/project_and_asset_management/project_settings/proxy_settings.html is probably what you are looking for.

DaVinci Resolve free version runs on many Linux versions. It has a very robust proxy workflow.
