Panasonic DMR-ES16 Pick-Up Laser

Hi

Can you still find the Panasonic DMR-ES16 laser pickup Canadien Version?
The drive gave an error that had to be closed and opened to restore the drive without success. Since no original disc is detected and DVD-R, the motor turns at barely a fraction of a second.

You can find complete ES16 units used on ebay occasionally. I think more people use these for passthrough for captures via other methods rather than use them for DVD recordings, so assuming the passthrough part still works, you might find that you can sell yours for roughly what a fully working one sells for and then just buy a different ES16. Any reason you're attached to the 16 versus a similar model like the 15 or 10?

I bought this model new when it was made. And I would have liked to repair it. What is the difference with the DMR-ES15 or DMR-ES10? .

Only reason I mention the ES10 and 15 is that they are much more common and easier to find if you end up needing a replacement machine. I think the ES16 was only ever really sold in Canada. Some say the ES10 has a stronger stabilizing effect than the ES15/16. I understand, but I would have liked to be able to repair mine if possible.Is there a way to get another laser?
