  1. Hi,
Have some old movies in DVD .iso and was thinking of encode it to .mkv and with filter to get better quality etc, using MeGUI and AviSynth.
But can I encode with Handbrake from .iso to .mkv first and then later use MeGUI and AviSynth ?
As I was not thinking of doing the encode now but maybe in the future, but I want the movies in .mkv instead of .iso

    Thanks in advance

You can always load the ISO file in MakeMKV and plus get rid of unwanted audio & subtitles.

Then if you decide, encode them later.

  3. Mount the ISO as a virtual DVD with WinCDEmu (free, open source). Then you can use dgindex, avisynth, megui, etc.

  4. Ok, thanks.
So its possible to just covert to .mkv and then later encode it with filter to get better quality.

    Thanks, I will try

MakeMKV will remux (not reencode) the audio and video data into an MKV file, so this process is lossless. But some converters don't deal well with MPEG 2 in MKV.
