    hi. i'm new to all of this, but the program has been easy to use. i've already burned a couple of great dvds.

    However, i renamed my movie files and put them in different folders and all that to get them organized. Well, now my saved project can't find them and won't open. I've tried guessing at the file names and folder name, but none of it worked. is there a way to reconnect the .s2d file with the movies? I'd prefer not to have to start over on this project.

    thanks

  2. Only if you rename them and move them back.

    Honestly, you didn't expect it to work after you effectively hid everything from it did you?

    you would have to edit the project file by hand and point the assets parts to the new locations

    In your saved project (.s2d file) you should have something like:

    Code:
    ....

    <Asset ID="26b03595-98ea-4da5-988d-8869a0f18735" Path="G:\films" Filename="part1.mpg" />
    <Asset ID="1a809833-3a21-46ac-b280-db9f4418d3a4" Path="G:\films" Filename="part2.mpg" />
    <Asset ID="5b6b75c4-ae1f-4d2e-83f6-827f95ba57d7" Path="G:\films" Filename="part3.mpg" />
    ....
    just change the Path="G:\films" Filename="part1.mpg" bits to point to your new locations

    Okay. thanks. but how do i open the .s2d file to get to that information? whenever i try to open the .s2d file, it opens the SVCD2DVD, and i get the message that the files can't be found.

    Sorry to be such a newbie!

    ok. Start notepad. Then drag & drop the .s2d file onto it.
