    Does anyone know of a DVD player that can also play .mp4 and Divx (.avi) files? It would be great if these formats could also be played through a USB connection. Thanks in advance!

    Just buy a simple Bluray player, most can play files in an MKV/MP4/AVi container on a USB stick. And they can play DVDs. A basic $50 Sony unit should do. Be sure to check the tech specs.

    Update: Doesn't have to be a Sony, I found the "LG BP155" for $50.
