    Good night,

I tried to hard encode subtitles into my .avi movies and everything seems to be ok, at least the size of the subtitle. It's too small, even setting the maximum size of the font. Someone can help me with this issue? Did you already experience smth like that?
The same thing I saw if I encode to DVD, when I burn it's too small too

Burning subtitles onto the video with ffmpegX with mencoder encoding (some AVI, MP4 presets), has been known to be broken with regard to custom font size, for several versions of ffmpegX (since 0.0.9s I think). It is a known bug. A fix would require a new compile of the binaries from fixed code for use with ffmpegX (and possibly new version of ffmpegX to accommodate the changes), which hasn't happened yet.
I’m not sure how far this propagates to DVD encodings, as mencoder likely isn’t involved there.

You might try encoding with Perian’s subtitle features. See a previous topic on the size of subtitles.
