    I'll start with the specs.

    Computer System:
    Custom Built with:
    Gigabyte GA-8IHXP Mobo
    P4 2.4 Ghz 533 FSB
    256 MB PC 1066 RDRAM
80 GB WD Special Edition HDD - 4 partitions Win98 boot, Winxp Boot for Protools, WinXP Boot for Video Editing, and Video Scratch partition (All NTFS except for 98 boot)
120 GB WD 2MB Cache audio Scratch disk - FAT32
ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 64MB DDR, (The original Radeon chip...)
    ADS Tech Firewire Interface
    Protools Digi001 Audio Interface.
SB Live Platinum 5.1 with Live! drive
    and Panasonic PVDV-400 MiniDV camcorder

Video capture goes off off without a hitch, but whenever I export back out to DV tape I always pick up a glitch or two. I have used Ulead Video Studio, MGI VideoWave, and Adobe Premiere 7.0. V S and VW usually drop a frame or two every 10-15 min. Adobe has audio glitches, but never aborts due to dropped frames.

    Please help...

Defrag your hard drives and turn off everything you are not transferring video with on your system.

I kind of had the same problems you are having and it was fixed by using Pinnacle studio 7, yes it has alot of bugs and glitches but it always seems to output to dv perfectly - give it a try what you got to lose

Yes, it's under the capturing forum, but may still prove of use.

Thanks Y'all, Gotta get off to my "Day" job, will test the suggestions this evening.

    @curryman:

Is Pinnacle Studio 7 considered to be a Consumer, a Prosumer, or strictly Professional program?

On that note - get version 7, more stable than version 8 IMHO

  9. Give DVIO a try. I mostly use it to capture video (and it never drops frames from a good source), but it has also worked well at exporting DV AVI video out to firewire. Simple, tiny little program that gets a lot done.

There's a little program that does this automatically for you so you know everything is down, If memory serves me right I think it's called end it all

That End it All can do more harm than good, if you do not know what you are doing.

Well, I disconnected the network cable, and killed Mcafee AV, MS Messenger, (Never use it anyway...) and a few other things.

dump was a success, now to move on to the second tape finally.....

  13. A lot of these editing programs have bloated inconsistent tape printing modules. I'd recommend rendering your project to an AVI file and printing it to tape with WinDV- I've never had a single problem that way.
