  1. I have version 8.00.00.4487 of Windows Media Player. I may have already answered my question. I cannot get full screen with SVCD mpeg2 files. These files are off my hard drive. DVDs, ripped or from discs can go into full screen. Is it my codecs, or lack of codec(s) that prevent me from viewing full screen with SVCD mpeg2 files. If not then WMP been smoking too much skooma and using too much moon sugar, so then a new player would solve this?

A list of my video codecs follows:

Are any of those codecs Mpeg2????
If not then its no surprise. You need an Mpeg2 codec to play SVCD.
I would advise getting a better software player for your videos.
I stopped using WMP ages ago it is always playing stuff outta synch.
    Try PowerDVD demo .....

  3. DVD Express Video Decoder is a Mpeg2 codec. When I go into full screen on a SVCD it makes the whole screen black with the video in the size it was, i.e. 100%. Then around 5 seconds later WMP goes out of full screen mode back to what it was before.

PowerDVD is a software player which incorporates its own mpeg2 codec.
Theres no harm in trying it. The demo is free to try.

As i said WMP is not a good media player especially with Mpeg2.

  7. Going to 16 bit from 32 bit color helps, especially with some dvds and svcds.
