I have a video in which instead of reducing background noise, I'd actually like to increase it. The music is high but the background noise is actually people talking and i would like to increase the people talking. Is there a way to go about achieving this? I would greatly appreciate it.

You can drop the audio track into an audio editor like the freeware Audacity and play with the filters.
You might get a small improvement in the voices but suffer a lose in the music quality. Worth trying, anyhow.

You could also use a moderate amount of dynamic range compression that will bring up softer passages. Use Audacity also for this.

  4. Just set a compressor on the audio track, and set it to something like: ratio 10:1, fast attack and slow release. These settings should bring the voices up while keeping the music under control.

Play with these parameters until everything sound as you like.
