Sony Blu Ray player connected to TV, trying to play video off USB flash drive memory stick inserted into Blu Ray player?

Or , in some cases, USB directly inserted into TV , into the USB slot on the TV?

error message "USB device not supported"

you need to backup copy the files from your memory stick drive to your PC drive. or they will be erased when you reformat.

and then you have to reformat the USB Flash drive memory stick to Fat32.

ExFat and NTSF will not work. I has to be reformatted to Fat32.

If your USB memory stick is over 32 GB, it cannot be reformatted to Fat32 by your PC unless you get special software to do it.

Use Easus Partition Master, reformat from ExFat or from NTSF
    to Fat32.

    Windows can do FAT32 formats.

  3. This is old news. Many devices only work with FAT32. You will eventually run into is FAT32's 4GB file size limitation. A better solution is not to buy crappy Sony products which are far behind the times with such features. Sony is the last company to add consumer friendly features if they might possibly be used to play pirated content (remember they own many of the major movie studios).

My Samsung tv also needs FAT32 to use with a USB stick. As hech54 has said Windows can very easily reformat it for you. But remove any files temporarily first.
I also have a Sagem PVR that uses the same.

I am running Windows 10 and the only two default reformat options it gave me were Exfat and NTSF

btw, I posted this out of the goodness of my heart to help others out in the same situation, and the solution
    I posted works 100%.

This post was not even for the advanced users here.

That is why it is worded so carefully, for
    neophytes.

it was posted for any newby searching the internet looking for a solution. And I have no affiliation with
    the software mentioned.

Anyone with a USB thumb drive or memory stick over 32 GB
will need to use software to reformat to Fat32.

The software I found was free and small called Easus Partition Master.
