  2. The problem is the region code. DVD's produced for one region won't play on players produced for another region:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code

You need a region free DVD player. Some players can be made region free via a sequence of button presses on the remote. Look for your player in the database here.

If you don't find your player you can make a region free copy with your computer (if you have a DVD writer).

If it's a PAL DVD, you should be able to play it with that DVDR unless the region code is wrong.
But to copy it, that's a bit more complicated.

But others here may be able to give better advice.

    And welcome to our forums.

    And jagabo was faster.

Should be able to play the disc on your computer.
If you copy the disc it will be region free but the video
Will still be pal format, unless your TV can display PAL format
Or your dvd player can play pal format disc's.

She's in Australia. PAL all the way. She only has to remove the region code, as already mentioned, and reburn to disk. Or play it on a region-free player..
