I recently purchased a Philips HTD5550/98 home theater unit and need to convert it to region-free. All the information I can find on the "5550" is from earlier versions and says to use the 99990 method. This does not work on my unit. I have tried every Philips conversion technique I can find and nothing has worked. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I highly doubt that hack ever worked. Home Theater units were always virtually impossible to hack.

Actually, I have a Philips 3550 and it worked fine. I also have an LG which hacked easily.

3550 is not a Home Theater model.
