I have searched the forum unsuccesfully for anyone with the same problem. I use my DVR almost exclusively for timer recordings on the hard drive of T/V programmes for viewing at a more convenient time.
The DVR is working perfectly in every respect except that there are six programmes (Pioneer calls them titles) which can not be played, edited or deleted. When I try to play them the screen is black but the sound track can be heard. If I try to edit or delete them I get the error message on screen:- "Cannot edit title because the T/V system is different to recorder's setting".
Is there a simple answer to my problem? I've considered replacing the hard drive but so far have been put off by the comments on the forum and the cost of service remote etc. (The existing hard drive is 80Gb)
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

"Cannot edit title because the T/V system is different to recorder's setting"
Whats your setting in: Home Menu --> Initial Settings --> Standard
You should see under where you can set the time, the Input Line System.
Change this and you might be able to remove the titles -

Screen black with error message "This signal's TV system is different from the recorder's setting". Whilst in 525 mode I went into Disc Navigator and found that I was able to delete the six unwanted titles from the index. However, the time remaining did not increase.
After returning to 625 lines I ran the "Optimize HDD" feature in the "Disc setup" section of the "Home Menu", (taking 110 minutes) but there is no visible difference- The Time Remaining is 11 hours 38 minutes, which when added to my wanted programmes amounts to a total of 17 hours 04 minutes.
Are you able to advise further.
Thanks again Baloooo -
You could try a reset of the DVR! (sometimes it helps, sometimes not):
1 Make sure that the recorder is on and that the disc tray is empty.
2 Using the front panel controls, press and hold STOP and press STANDBY/ON.
The recorder turns off with all settings reset. -
Thanks Hkan.
Worked a treat. All is now back to normal.
I can only suspect that perhaps a glitch in the power supply caused the problem bacause I had not changed the settings.
Thanks again,

Your welcome!

I am having the exact same problem with one exception - the option to change from 625 to 525 is greyed out and not accessible. I've tried all sorts of settings changes, but nothing works.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers -
Did you try the reset option?
