    Hello,

Could someone please give me some advice on the next scenerio:

I've got this uncompressed avi i want to create a blu ray iso from.

I've only got a blu-ray player, so no burner.

So i thought the following: Once i've got the iso, i could burn it with on a dvd in blu-ray format and play it on on my blu-ray player. A dvd should be able to contain 20 minutes in blu-ray format.

What's a good way to do this?

    Thanks,

    Mayhem

Try Nerovision or Ulead DVD Moviefactory.

But NOT all blu-ray players supports bluray video on dvd media.

A true uncompressed AVI would NOT be in a video format suitable for BluRay. You would have to encode first with something to produce output in either MPEG-2, VC-1 or H.264 suitable for BluRay. Then you could author it. I believe that the program tsmuxer can output BluRay format if you give it valid input video and audio for BluRay.

Baldrick's caution is well worth noting as your player may not support BluRay on DVD media after you go to the trouble to make it.

Finally, a DVD can contain more than 20 minutes of BluRay video depending on the bit rate used. I was getting about 45 minutes of 1080i video from TV captures on single layer DVDs in HD DVD format. I know, HD DVD a dead format, but it's analogou to BluRay. I've got an HD DVD I made myself on DVD+R DL disc that has about 2 hours and 11 minutes of video on it, but the source video was pristine and easily re-encoded to a lower bit rate.

    Ok, thanks for the replies.

After playing with it for a while i converted the avi to mkv with mkvmerge.
Then i used tsmuxer to create the blu-ray file format.
Seems i've got blu-ray files now.

Now what to do? I can't just copy the stuff to a dvd and play it in my blu-ray player, can i?

    Lame idea.

What is the sense behind it??

    Burn it to DVD, presto.
