Here is my situation, my 2 JVC HR S-6700U have bit the dust. They were bought in the early 90’s and I really do not want to put any money into them. I have looked on E-Bay for a 9800 model but quite frankly I am not a fan of E-Bay. I would like some advice as to a currant model to buy either consumer or pro that would be as good as the older models. I still have over 300 tapes to convert. If you were to buy one today what would you buy? Model #’s and where to buy would be appreciated. Thanks for any suggestions, BDB

IMO, the HR-S6700U is one of the best VCRs that JVC ever made. None of the consumer VCRs currently available can match its performance.
I would look for a Panasonic AG-1960/1970/1980. Ebay may be your only option.Life is better when you focus on the signals instead of the noise. -
Coincidentally, I know somebody that has a good machine to sell (he told me just today). In fact, I think he's in Texas too, so there is potential you could drive and pick it up. Maybe I can help you find one, and him sell one.
PM me about it.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
