    I wonder if it's possible to change the BluRay device region like one can do for a DVD in Windows 7?

    You could use anydvdhd and you wont have to worry about region codes. But it's not free though.

    AnyDVD HD optionally disables RPC region codes, thereby making the movie region free and comfortably viewable on any DVD/Blu-ray player and with any DVD/Blu-ray playback software.

    I don't know of you can change the bluray firmware region code.
