  1. Hey,

I installed a new video card last night and it made my in-game video capture go all kinds of crazy. I was able to fix it later by playing with drivers and codecs, however I recorded one very important in-game video that I want to restore.

The video appears to have it's colors inverted or something and I tried to play with Vegas Color Blender to see if I could switch the channels or something but it didn't work.

I uploaded a 10 second clip of the video to youtube so you could see what I mean:

If you want to see what it should look like, check out some of my other videos on youtube.

    Any help is greatly appreciated...

  2. You recorded that with Fraps or some other screen capture software? To have any hope of recovering it you'll need to upload an sample of the original cap that hasn't been reencoded. It looks to me like 24 bit color is being interpreted as 15 or 16 bit color. Instead of smooth gradients you get steps where the gradients wrap back to zero.

  3. I uploaded some of the raw video (546mb) : https://s3.amazonaws.com/epgassets/wierdsample.avi

Are there any tools I can use to try to convert it back?

  4. I don't see any way to fix it. Maybe someone else will have some ideas...
