  1. Hi, Im trying to capture some old VHS's and have been having a bit of a problem. When I go to capture there is no preview window. I can actually capture from the device into a file and under video preview is checked. Strangely I think when I initially downloaded ffdshow it temporally displayed an output but not any more. Im using a Digitnow BR150 which according to ffdshow is using a YUY2 format and Windows 10
    Any help would be appreciated.

same issue here, I used to have preview working but not anymore and I don't know what I did. capture still works properly but I would like to see what I'm capturing.
it stopped working in Vdub 1 then I switched to Vdub 2. It worked for a couple days then no more preview.

    probably another Windows 10 issue.

  3. I'm having the same issue. Was working fine until last weekend when I installed a new RTX 2070 and updated NVIDIA drivers.

  4. Turn off Video -> No Display? Ie, switch to Video -> Overlay or Video -> Preview, etc.

Tried all that. Didn't help. I sometimes see the preview screen with the blue background appear briefly in a flash, then disappear. Capture still works okay, but no preview.

  7. I've given up on VirtualDub for capturing video. I'm now using OBS Studio.

Just adding a "me too" to this thread.

I love VeeDub, but suddenly (today, actually) it no longer will show the video it is capturing. It does the capture, but no preview; makes it hard to do capture properly. It was working fine under Windows 10 for months, now... Piffle. I really hate what Microsoft is doing to everything. They seem dedicated to making all computers as useless as possible. I have moved to OBS Studio, which recommendation I found on this forum. Required some setting up, but it works, even under Windows 10.

    Just my 2 frames worth...

  9. OBS studio has just as many problems as any other program. I gave up on it because I was not able to capture any audio. I have heard that people have lots of problems with syncing audio and video when recording from VHS which is what I am doing.

Any other solutions for displaying the preview screen for VirtualDub on Windows 10?

  10. I don't know if this setting really applies to the capture module, but at the main VirtualDub Interface select Options -> Preferences. In the Preferences dialog select Display in the left pane. Turn off "Use DirectX for display panes". Exit and restart VirtualDub. Try a cap...
