    Hi,

I'm the happy owner of the new Corel VideoStudio Pro X5 program. I've resently put together my first video, but then an error occured.
In the preview window i noticed that everytime a new clip is beeing played, the program adds a top line and bottom line, often displaying something from the previous clip in the timeline. I thought this was not a big deal, but then after saving my video as a finish .avi file, the problem was not solved..

I've attached a screen picture of my problem.

Anyone who can tell me what's wrong?

Maybe that's a new feature? "Reflecting Endcaps".

I've now been searching around in the program and I wasn't able to find any settings or changes regarding "Reflecting Endcaps".
Is there other words for the same thing or?
Sometimes the program adds an icon saying "DivX" ind the bottom right corner. And it's only there for about 3-4 secs

Whats profile used? Resolution? Aspec Ratio?

Play in others softs (MPC, KMPLAYER, DAUM POTPLAYER, VLC)?

Its a normal. Go to DIVX config and uncheck this (show divx watermark).

    I prefer "double vision".

There aren't any patches yet for X5 so you might want to visit http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=71f63556d0d3be5587ba48dd33e59ba0]

    The clips are recorded with a 4:3 ratio and 720p, 60 frames/s.
In the program i can enable/disable widescreen or 60p/50p editing, but neither of the settings changes anything.
When i played the finish created file, i tried in Windows Media Player and in VLC.

I cant't find any DivX configurations though?

MOVIEGEEK - you might have answered about same time i wrote my message..
I'll try have a look at that page. But does it mean that it's probably a non-fixable problem at the moment since no patches are available?

  8. I use VideoStudio and I've never seen that problem but it might be simple to fix, the members in that forum are pretty knowledgeable.

Just a thought - measure the distance between the lines and the width of the picture and see if it comes close to 16:9. Maybe your project is set to 16:9 and the source material is 4:3 and there is some weird built in app to simulate 16:9 a bit like TV stations in Australia when they are showing a 4:3 clip add fuzzy repeats of of part of the frame either side. In you case it is top and bottom?

I´m tested various clips. No problem here (top/bottom mirrors lines), but no way to get 16:9 AR on Widescreen/50.60p using 960x720 files. Only 4:3.

Cauptain: Where do you find the "DivX control panel" ??

The dimensions of the main clips are actually 16:9 when the function is enabled. If I disable the function, it is shown as 4:3; but still with the lines.

It was so simple! By unticking that "Show DivX Watermark On Video" box, the problem was solved

Thank you all - Amazing and quick responses
