I've converted a couple of original Star Trek episodes from DVD, to SVCD. I use TMPGEnc Plus to seperate the video and audio tracks from the DVD's VOB files. I encode the video portion with TMPGEnc to SVCD video standards. Then, I convert the AC3 audio track to WAV using AC32WAV. Finally, I rejoin the audio (WAV file) and video (MPG file) using TMPGEnc Plus. The result is excellent, except...
About 1/2 through the episode, the audio starts to drag behind the video, ever so slightly. I know there's ways to adjust audio sync for an entire audio file, but is there a way to adjust audio sync only from a particular part of an audio file? I can live with the problem; it's very minor; but I'd prefer perfection...if it's available in a freeware app.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

did you resample the audio down to 44100 hz?
dvd audio sample rate is 4800 hz. If you didn't resample the audio, then it will cause audio sync problems.
you can use dvd2avi to demux the audio, from the dvd, and resample it down to 44100.
You can also use virtualdub or goldwave to do this.
I prefer to use goldwave and is available to try out before you buy it. Just load the wave file you created and click on effects | resample. select 44100 from the pulldown menu and let it process. -
Now that you mention it, I don't think I did. I can't believe I forgot about that! Thanks!
