    Hi there,

I have a folder containing several .VOB & .IFO files (se attached image) all as a result of downloading the movie Maid to Order. How do I know which which of these to load into Movavi Video Converter or VLC?

In case you couldn't tell it's been a few years since I did these things so I can be considered a noob. I know I can play a .VOB file directly in e.g. PotPlayer but that's about all I remember. Please help!
    Thank you.

  2. Don't know with potplayer, but with VLC Player double click Video_TS.IFO to see the main DVD Menu.
So you'll see if Video Title Set 1 (VTS_01) or Video Ttitle Set 2 (VTS_02) is the movie you'll further elaborate.

You'll be able to tell straight away which VOB set is the main movie: check Windows Explorer for the file sizes. By the look of your screenshot above, it'll be VTS_01. There will be four 1048MB VOBs and No 5 will be smaller. Those are the main movie files.

@VenusandMars, re your topic question, you can either join the VOBs up into one MPG and keep it like that (saves recoding/possible quality loss)) or convert that to MP4 with programs such as AVIDemux, Handbrake or Clever FFMPEG GUI.

AVIDemux will join and convert sequential VOBs in one action.

Yes Alwyn, I remembered AVIDemux (a long time favorite video tool of mine) yesterday, Thursday evening (I'm on UTC+1 here), and sure enough it came through yet again. I opened the biggest of the VOB files in it as adviced, was asked wether I wanted to add the other VOB's of the movie, and by 8:25 pm I had the mp4 and watched it - perfect!

I was 30 back in 1987 when this movie, 'Maid To Order', came out and watching it again sure took me back. The film is up there with, for example, 'Into The Night' from 1985 imho.

    Again, thx for your input.

You can use VOB2MPG and losslessly convert it to an MPG file.
(For Win10, the mscoree.dll file from the program folder must be manually moved to the Windows\System32\)
