Hi, it's me again. Could you implement pcm_dvd encoding?
    Thanks ia
Implemented in the newest beta (v3.0.3.02), online now.
However, pcm_dvd is of limited use (only in the vob container).
Test it an report success or issues here.

Delete this folder (it will be created again automatically):
C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\clever_FFmpeg_GUI (where xxx=your user name on windows) and restart clever Ffmpeg-GUI.

I don't know if it's a bug, but I tried to extract pcm audio from an m2ts file, and the program failed in this task. But the converted m2ts file had 2 minutes of playback less. See the MediaInfo from original m2ts file.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

  8. @kdantas:

    I have done some research.

FFmpeg has known problems with the m2ts container. The second problem is pcm big endian, also here there are numerous error messages and problems on the internet.
The incorrect extraction of the pcm_s24be audio stream (detected in the m2ts container by ffmpeg as pcm_bluray) is really a bug in clever FFmpeg GUI, but is now fixed in the latest beta (v3.0.4.01).
    Try it here: https://files.videohelp.com/u/292773/clever_ffmpeg_gui_newest_beta.7z

As for the different length when recoding from pcm_s24be to flac, I can't confirm that.
I just recoded an audio stream of 2:42:12.552 and the flac audio file has exactly the same length, down to the last millisecond.

You should avoid pcm big endian in the future and use pcm little endian instead, has exactly the same quality and is more compatible.

    NB
Try to demux the whole source file to the single streams with Tsmuxer, so you can check the real length of the pcm audio stream

Hi @ProWo, could you take a look at this audio file (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iDDLmV9HwdvYGkLqS9IjZT08CBjLFQAk/view?usp=sharing), because the converted file (flac, wav, ...) is 2 minutes shorter than the original?

  10. The file seems to have errors.
(e.g. the playback gets stuck at second 7 etc.).
This causes problems during conversion and can shorten the runtime among other things.

As you can see, the correct play time is 01:28:39

What you see here is the video length.
The correct length of the audio stream in videodrome.mka is 01:26:51.520.
You can easily check this by extracting the audio stream, either with clever FFmpeg-GUI or with MKVCleaver.
The time difference is due to an incorrect muxing with the image.
The extracted audio stream is perfect, without errors.

Hello ProWo i am very pleased about the way you develop this perfect tool for encoding , specially for the new Change DAR at stream level and/or container level which saves a lot of time .
I would like to ask you if you have in plan to add hardware acceleration option to the encoding process ( specially Intel QSV ) cause i have tried a lot of other encoders but yours is way more than perfect and if you will add the option to choose to use hardware acceleration will be a great asset .

Thanks and wish you a nice day ahead

Hardware acceleration is a problem, in the sense that it only works on some computers (the ones that have the prerequisites), a lot of parameters and filters don't work, etc.
Also, in several tests I have done so far, there has been only a modest speed increase.
Anyway, post here some command lines that work for you.
I will then run some tests and see what can be done.

this is the command i find to give the best quality overall and good size with my computer .
a 2hours movie is done in about 45 minutes with 40 to 50 fps encoding and ending up of a size of 2gb movie very high quality

    "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\FFmpeg\bin\ffmpeg.exe" -y -i "C:\Users\Administrator\Videos\Video.mkv" -map 0 -c:v hevc_qsv -pix_fmt p010le -load_plugin hevc_hw -low_power 1 -preset veryslow -profile:v 2 -level 40 -qmin:v 1 -qmax:v 2 -b:v 2500K -rc_init_occupancy 2500K -async_depth 1 -strict -1 -avbr_accuracy 1 -avbr_convergence 1 -b_strategy 1 -qcomp 0.8 -rdo 1 -extbrc 1 -look_ahead_depth 40 -g:v 256 -bf:v 7 -refs:v 4 -low_delay_brc 1 -vf "scale=1920:1080:flags=lanczos,format=p010le" -aspect 1.7777 -color_primaries bt709 -color_trc bt709 -colorspace bt709 -fps_mode cfr -c:a aac -b:a 224k -ac 6 -ar 48000 -map_metadata -1 -map_chapters -1 "C:\Users\Administrator\Videos\Video+.mkv"

Any advice to improve the quality of the encoding will be really appreciated , cause i barely could find examples of the comand on the forums specially for hevc_qsv

As prerequisite files i use :
    1.intel_sdk_for_opencl_applications_2020.3.494
    2.MSDK2021R1
    3.w_opencl_runtime_p_2022.2.1.19741

  24. @ Marcellos
    Your commandline gives:
[hevc_qsv @ 000001461960a0c0] some encoding parameters are not supported by the QSV runtime. Please double check the input parameters.
Error initializing output stream 0:0 -- Error while opening encoder for output stream #0:0 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height
    on my computer...

maybe you need to remove -low_power 1 it is not working on all the computers

    "low_power"
For encoders set this flag to ON to reduce power consumption and GPU usage.

Thank you for creating this useful software. I have run into a minor issue in regards to the version update referenced above. See attached images. It may be specific to my configuration, but whenever trying to change 5.1 to 2 channel downmix settings, the pop-up window that appears does not display all available settings. A workaround for this I have found is to double-click the window title to maximize the pop-up. You can also see the 'Encode' button seems to be misplaced.

I have tried clearing settings as referenced in the 'ReadMe.txt' and have re-downloaded a few different versions. This is currently happening for me in both the current stable release and beta release. I feel like it was displaying properly for me at one point (not sure), which could indicate a problem on my machine specifically. If it matters, my monitor is 2560x1440 resolution.

clever FFmpeg-GUI is compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 and in this process I can't change anything....
I have no idea what triggers some virus scanners, but these are false alarms as you can see from the fact that the most reputable virus scanners detect nothing.
