  1. I ripped a dvd with clad, transformed it with dvd2avi, using the bitrate calc, and then I start TMPGEnc for compressing to SVCD. So far...but after an hour (or two) when the "source position"- counter starts, my PC starts new (like a hard reset). I tried it several times... I made some changes in the Windows XP setup before, but everything else work fine and fast. I use WinXP Prof, AMD 1600+, 2 IBM 7200 HDDs, and the newest versions of all the packing programs... Please help

  2. I had similar issues - they only went away when I rebuilt my PC and reinstalled from scratch.

Best I can suggest is that you update your video drivers.
You'd be amazed what problems that can fix.

I had similar problems when converting video files in DVD Workshop.

Found out it was my CPU chip overheating. A more robust heatsink and fan did the trick.

The SiSoft Sandra diagnostic program told me the CPU temperature was going up 15 degrees Fahrenheit when DVD Workshop was converting video files!

I wouldn't be surprised if TMPG is doing the same....
