Holla all, i use nero 6 i had a 1x dvd-r's and used to burn at that speed now i just got a batch of DVD-r's that are 2x, however nero still only burns them at 1x speed.
i tried the little drop down box to change the speed but the option is not there, any ideas????

It's not Nero,it's a limitation of your DVD writer. Just because it's 2x doesn't mean it will burn at 2x. The media your using must be properly configured in the recorders firmware in order for it to see the media as 2x.

Make sure you have DMA enabled. If the IDE channel your writer is on is PIO only then this would cause slower than expected burn speeds.

this is how other people solved it.

Old bug with windows not rechecking if DMA is available
after some wrong answers from the media?
