I'm seeing a series that has embedded subtitles. The Audio is russian and it has embedded english subtitles .
I put portuguese subtitles but it is very frustrating to read them. I know there are some programs that build a box
with some background colour that solves the situation but I don't know what is it. Can anyone tell me what is that program?
    Thank you for your help.

  2. What player are you using? Many allow you to change the font for text subtitles without changing the actual files. If your player supports ASS subtitles you can use "BorderStyle" 3 or 4 (not all players support 4), with outline >0.

  4. SubtitleEdit will allow you to box subtitle lines.
For a multiple line subtitle you can box each line separately or one box for both.
Separately give a larger covered area.
You can also increase the boarder of the subtitles which gives a contoured background.

    File > Export > VobSub (sub/idx)
For boxed subtitles you must uncheck 'Simple rendering'.
For a ridiculous contour check 'Simple rendering'.
However, with Simple rendering all your italicized subtitles will appear non-italicized.

I think I got that right.
