Handbrake 1.40 requires dot-net runtime 5.09 Win x64 to run. I installed it, but when I open Handbrake it is not recognized and it asks to reinstall dot-net again. I went back to 1.33 and no problems. Computer Intel i9 with 64 gig ram.

Of course-twice, but no soap! The file I had was dot-net-runtime-5.09-win-x64.exe. When I used your file (dot.net-SDK...) worked. Why did they send me to that faulty file upon installing the program? God only knows, but thanks for the correct link.

With the SDK you get everything. This is the file, supposedly, for a minimum installation

  5. installing with chocolatey gets all the dependencies, in case you want to go that route.

  6. install last build stable or beta of vidcoder and after handbrake 1.40, the first has the necessary library for run handbrake work without installing microsoft SDK.

You need the desktop runtime version ... I made the same mistake but previously found the answer on the Handbrake forum:

  8. Am I missing something, did Handbrake always require dot net or is this something new starting with this version?
