    when i capture i have no sound but when i play back the file there is sound. I even unchecked line in still no sound

    If the card has a USB interface then you won't hear sound when you're in preview mode, only after the avi file has already been created. It IS capturing sound but it won't output through the speakers while you're watching the preview. It doesn't matter how you configure the sound properties.

    If you really are aching to hear sound while you preview then you'll have to run a line to your sound card.
