  1. Is it worth it to get 99 minute capable burner while 95% of movies are about 120 minutes or more? You still are gonna have to use 2 cd's anyway. Aside from that do any DVD players have trouble reading them?

Is large buffer (8 mb) a substitute for a burnproof burner?

A few DVD Players have been reported not to play them, they are fairly new these 90+CD-R's, so testing will continue.

Most modern (or fairly modern) CD-R(W) Writers are nowadays upgradeble via firmware - this often enables that they can burn these CD-R's - some only get 89:59 mins out of these 90+ CD-R's others go all the way to 99:05 mins. Here a compatibility list:

You asked regarding the 8MB buffer and the burn proof. I don't know how much multitasking you would have to do on a 8MB buffer to stop the flow - these days I find software tries to get its hands on all the memory it can. Taking that into account I would recommend burn-proof technology, which actually turns off the drive (stops the burn process) should the buffer flow become interrupted.
