  1. Hello all, new to the forum and looking for help. Not sure if I'm posting on the right forum, if not, I apologize.

    I need help identifying the connector on the Sony UBP-X700 motherboard.
    I would like to find out the name/type of connector it is. I'm trying to modify the player and soldering would be my last option, reason why I would like to get it.
    This is a 6 pin male connector, I'm looking for the female connector.

    Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thank you all in advance.

    Search Comp PM
    google MOLEX 6 pin connector. Several component supply houses show similar parts. Then just pick the matching male plug.

  3. Thank you, misterbill.

    I did Google it as you suggested but unfortunately nothing that comes up matches this particular connector.
    I even tried typing CN701 but that didn't help either.

    Thanks again.

    you need to take it to a component distributor and see if they can match it. i'd guess it's a molex connector also they makes thousands of different part numbers so picking one from a picture is impossible. but this is similar but mounts differently.

  5. Thanks, aedipuss.

    It's being hard finding the female connector, although the picture you posted look very similar to one on the board.

    you can get just the pins or an assortment of pins and connectors like this https://www.amazon.com/QLOUNI-Housing-Connector-Adaptor-Assortment/dp/B0774NMT1S/ref=s...lex+connectors

    if the connectors don't work you can just use the pins on the wires without a male plastic holder

  7. Thanks again, aedipuss.

    That is a good suggestion about the pins. I'll take that into consideration after a little more search and if I don't find the correct connector.

  8. This connector is for diagnosis of the Player.
    The pins I know are:
    1 -> ??
    2 -> GND
    3 -> Rx
    4 -> Tx
    5 -> 3.3v
    6 -> ??

    You can use a usb-ttl cable to connect the player to your PC. MTKtools app.
    But I tried to read part of the nand and it is not possible. With other players, no problem for read.
    I also don't have a decrypted sony firmware to be able to do an update via usb-ttl.
    Nor have I got telnet, because AutoScript doesn't work and the trick of the libSegFault.so module doesn't work because it doesn't have a browser.
    If someone has more information would be appreciated.
