Trimming sentences in SRT files...

I am sorry, but i have no idea what this is called, but i hate it.

Some times i get srt files that are like this:

Line 1 -

extremely good at.
i don't understand my reasoning.
it certainly satisfies some

Line 2 -

i don't understand my reasoning.
it certainly satisfies some
desire that i have.

Having the SRT files in this way is a nightmare when you want to merge it with another translated version of the subtitles.
it takes up too much space on the screen.

So, my question is, how can i change the SRT file to display the sentences like this instead?

Line 1 -

Line 2 -

Every line should be a new sentence, and should NOT contain the previously spoken sentence.

The final result should look like this

i hope you know what text editor is and what regular expression is
load that srt file on text editor (i use Microsoft Visual Studio Code) press ctrl+h tick the regular expression icon (.*) and type

^.*?<br />

empty the replace text box then click that replace all button

backup your srt file just in case.

You can simply directly edit the line in Notepad Windows built in text editor or Notepad++ a free text editor you can download. Always make a backup of the original of course..
