    This programme https://pas-bien.net/2srt2ass/ works well

The ass file is like this

    [Events]

    Dialogue: 0,0:00:10.00,0:00:10.91,Top,,0000,0000,0000,,POPRZ EDNIO

It seems to me that I should be able to get the second subtitles in the middle rather than the top. However, simply swapping "Top" to "Mid" and vice-versa does not do the trick. The subtitles are still at the top. Can you get mid-titles and if so what else has to be changed.

    I am using Plex

You might have better luck positioning the subtitles exactly where you want them using Aegisub to edit the ASS file, or another subtitle editor that handles ASS subtitles (though I'd personally recommend Aegisub (the Windows version; the Mac version was rather WIP when I last tried it and I don't know if it currently works, and I haven't gotten around to trying the Linux version)).
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

I couldn't see how you reset the vertical margin. The margins for Top Mid and Bot are all set at 10 10 10

What I have managed to do is replace Top with Mid throughout the ass file open it in Aegisub "save it as" again and this time I did end up with mid-titles that worked. Still to high for my liking. I'll have to gen up on creating my own style and use that as a replacement.

Thanks for pointing me in the right way

I see 7, 8 and 9 is left, centre and right for top titles
    4 5 6 for mid titles
    and 1 2 3 for subtitles.

By making them both subtitles with 2 then adjusting MarginV for Top from 10 to 65 I now have dual subtitles exactly as I want them.

    Many thanks
