So it turns out my JVC DR-M10 needs DVD-RW Version 1.1 and I bought 1.2. What (good quality) discs are available that are 1.1?

    Thanks,
    -David

  2. I bought Fuji discs at Best Buy a few months ago that were 1.1, $10/5.

  3. Haven't heard of this one. I just buy whatever DVD-RW discs are on sale at Office Max or Staples and they seem to work fine on my JVC DRM10... Memorex, Fuji, whatever. They all work just fine.

Well, I got Verbatim 4X discs at Micro Center. Got the "could not format, please check disc" error. Called JVC, they explained the problem to me.

What media code are the Memorex and Fuji DVD-RWs?

  7. I've had superb results with Verbatim 1X/2X DataLifePlus DVD-RW made in Singapore on my DR-M10. They are expensive sold invidually but much more affordable in 10-packs. I have 20 and none have failed despite repeated recordings and erasures.

They aren't recognized by my BenQ DVD writer but my Lite-On DVD reader has no such problem and since they're only used to get my recordings from my DVD recorder to my computer for editing, this had never been a problem.

The Fujis mentioned above have the same mediaID so they should do the job just as well.
