  3. If it is a GIF file then it's a bitmap image file and not a video file.
    You can convert the GIF file to another bitmap image format using
    IrfanView or FastStone Image Viewer

    IrfanView - http://www.irfanview.net/
    FastStone Image Viewer - http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm

    It's not a true .GIF - GSpot will recognize true .GIF and .JPG files (not sure about the other regular image file types, offhand). Sounds like someone's changed the extension to .gif.

    Teac23: Do you have any archiving software, like WinRAR or 7-Zip? What happens if you change the extension to .ISO, and try to open the file in those programs... or, say, ISOBuster?

    Edit: Hmm... I happened to have a Linux LiveCD .ISO handy, so I tried running it through GSpot, both with the filename unchanged and the extension changed to .GIF. Both times, GSpot said it was an 'unknown format' but also had a "CD image" line.

    [quote="Teac23"]Hi

    Thanks everyone for your reply.

    Sorry about the post i put a G instead of a U

    Anyway i've run the file through mediainfo and it's now showing file to be a GiB file.

    I will google. But if anyone can advise a way of extracting file. It would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks
