  1. Big problems with my Dvd burner. I've had to format & reinstall everything about 2 weeks ago. I hadn't used my burner for anything until now and I am having some trouble with it.

    Pioneer DVD-RW DVR 106D

    It will not recognize any discs in the drive!
    Not even a retail disc, nothing!!!

    Can anyone here help me out with this?

    i'd suggest you check your BIOS to make sure the drive is being recognized. if it is check device manager to see if it's listed. make sure you set the drive to DMA mode.

    i suggest updating the firmware... if this is happening only since u formated ur computer, then it could be a bad OS install... it happens. try re-formatting it.

  4. I have no clue how to update the firmware, I've tried the forums over at http://www.firmware.fr.st/

    but only response I got was "read the faq"

    Which really doesn't help much

    i have the same drive, just run it. easy, but i think ur prob is more to do with the OS
