I have a 20 minute mpeg1 that I recorded myself from the TV. However, the clarity of the hardcoded subtitles isn't very good. (See screenshot.) I was wondering if there is a software that will extract the hardcoded subtitles (at bottom of screen) into a srt type format (not image format). I have another more clear copy of the same video (without subtitles) and I want to insert the extracted subtitles.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

AVISubDetector and subrip can OCR subs to srt from avi files(maybe also mpeg1 if not then convert the mpeg1 to avi).
