Is it possible to reduce the fps in staxrip. I am converting captures to mkv. I can convert it but it runs my processor to high to play it back. I am assuming it is because the frames are at 59fps (Hd capture) When I look at HD downloads that I have they mostly have 23.976 fps. I can get the bitrate and resolution the same as my downloads but I can't find anywhere to reduce the frames.

Give more information about your source files. 59.976fps 1080i interlaced source?

I have captured them from a DVB-S capture card. They are 1280x720 Mpeg2 files.

I have not been able to change the fps within StaxRip either, and using the x264 command --fps (enter framerate) doesn't work either. I'm sure someone may have a better solution but here's one that works for now.

    Change the fps beforehand.

Be careful when using VirtualDub since it doesn't add or subtract frames when reducing, so it would throw your audio out of sync.

TMPGEnc Xpress will do it fine.

Use a lossless codec like HuffYUV to preserve quality and input that into StaxRip.
I hate VHS. I always did.
