Again, it's not about you, the wanna-be-victim. How can anybody know if you've seen it? Going back to the example, if I write "Go f- yourself" in a post, realize a few minutes later that it was stupid, and edit it -- that has NOTHING to do with you.
Your logic is conspiracist in nature here. There is no evil plan to attack you, thus reeling you in for a counter-attack, withdrawing the original attack, and hoping for punishment in your direction. Do you realize how stupid that sounds? A bit juvenile, too.

If you post abuse on this site, you know that the whole world will see it, Google indexes the site every few minutes. You can withdraw it, and it may be passed over, but it did happen and you can't pretend otherwise.
I don't know why you keep misinterpreting what I wrote.
All I requested was that the "Last edited" line be reinstated, and it has been.
If you have no objection to that, which was how the site always worked before, why the hell do you keep going on and on about it?
Yes, the argument is "stupid and juvenile", but it's you that has been arguing both sides of it without reference to what I actually wrote. -
A more important concern... Someone adds more information to his/her post. Maybe something important. The edit should be noted and now it is. 5 minutes is reasonable. I'm perfectly willing to let somebody "take it back". Those who are concerned about being unfairly blamed for responding in kind to abuse directed at them can use the quote button when replying. ...but perhaps it is better to think twice about responding in kind. I have seen a few threads where both parties were justifiably chastised by a moderator.

I upgraded from phpbb v2 to v3 a few years ago just for the code changes
Then I had to convert an old phpbb v2 photo gallery to phpbb v3
Then I added a blog that, as it turns out, is used 99% by women..."Dear Diary, I got up this morning to a bad hair day...then went to Marys'" she typed.
Yeah, it was pretty much a whole waste of time...but if your whole site IS a bulletin board and database driven, it's bound to be slow and clunky...
Why bother reporting someone's post with anger issues? Don't you know teens know everything? Simply rejoice that someone's about to pull their hair out. It should be framed to show everyone.
If I didn't need a bb board to report news events on my site, I'd drop the whole idea in a matter of secondsLast edited by zoobie; 14th Feb 2010 at 15:41.

I had interesting exeperince a moment ago.
I tried typing 1366x768 inside a parentheses. However it turned the 8 into an emoticon. Like this 8)
Is this typical forum behavior? If I type it like this (1366x768) I get the emoticon - if I space it I don't - (1366x768 ).Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Hey you fixed it baldrick!
Did you simply remove the emoticon?Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Thanks.

No, for the fourth ******* time.
All you keep doing is insulting me and avoiding stating what your objection to my suggestion was.
After several posts where you continue doing this I assume you just won't admit you misread my post and thought I was advocating not allowing editing.
I notice this pattern in your posts, anyone disagrees with you, you start to ascribe idiotic motives to them and insult the creature you create in their image. -
If it walks like a duck...
... you'll find I'm not afraid of labeling it a duck.
Anyway, the 8) was an issue on the old forum too. Made lists harder. Of course, now we have vB number listsWant my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I hate that we no longer can see the original thread date.
I see more and more posts to threads that are months old.
2 in fact this morning by 1 post wonders digging up threads from November.
At the bottom of the thread next to quick navigation, the "top" button doesn't work in my FF 3.5.8 -
This fixes it: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=96850
v4 fix: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showpost.php?p=1971243&postcount=83
Set # days to mark before it's considered "old" -- around here, 60-90 days is probably a good cut-off.
Person has to read a note AND tick/check a box to make a post.
Baldrick can custom add thread creation column. There were hacks for 3.x series forums, nothing for 4.x. I would assume it's as easy as cloning an existing column, and then replacing the query with one that pulls the thread start date.
Most requests are easy to fill in vB. (It wasn't the case with phpBB.)Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

An odd link is being added to my posts after commas. I deleted the link several times while editing, but it still gets put back in, and may appear more than once in a post. It isn't an auto-link for a program name that I typed, and it is not visible in the thread after the post is submitted. The link is (I had to add some spaces so the text for the inserted link would be visible.)
