  1. I had a sony 3D t30. It had broken and send it to sony and they fix free a few years ago. I was out of country on business. Camcorder broke with wife she took it in and the guy told her it would cost $800. Seems crazy so she said no brought it home thru it in garbage with sd card . She went out an bought new one. I had downloaded most stuff on our mac but cant find all the files. I would usually transfer from card or HD to mac, then convert to mov file of mp4. What is the best program to see if they are hidden on mac still. and are they raw files or video.
they were usually avchd files. originally. If they are raw files can you tell what they are before converting as there were lots of vids. any advice would be great. I know there are some files of kids missing.

    sorry if wrong forum

Seems the proper forum. The MAC users here may take a day or two for suggestions, so stand by...

  3. Since the files should be rather large I would probably simply search for files with a min&max size inside a defined time frame and look through those.

there should be quite a few web sites with infos how search for files on a mac:

  4. I don't know much about computers , these files were all deleted once they were put on the Mac . I put them On the computer then converted and trashed. So I don't know where to look

  5. Ahhh,.. you deleted them. Then you either are lucky and they are still on the hdd or the place on the hdd got overwritten by other data. (especially if you are still actively using that hdd)
-> what you need is a data recovery program for mac

  6. Yes there are lots but they will do free scans , but are expensive to see the files . I didn't know if some are better than others . And if they find raw data. Does that mean they are done for good etc

  7. If the data got overwritten by other data the data can't be retrieved.
-> Personally I would try something like TestDisk (http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk)
