    Hello-

I was looking to buy a H4n to use as a USB MIC but it has been discontinued so I decided to look at the H5. No where can I find information stating that it can be used as a USB MIC as the H4n was. I plan to use the H5 for voice overs on video through FCPX, if not possible I'll find a used H4n. I've read the H5 operation manual pp. 74-77 (Audio Interface Settings) but nothing there tells me it can work as a USB mic.

So, anyone have any experience in this matter or know if the H5 can be used as a USB MIC on my iMac?

    Thanks
    Robes-

Incorrect. H4n is now sold as H4nSP (basically H4n in a new package):
    https://www.zoom.co.jp/products/handy-recorder/h4nsp-handy-recorder

The Zoom H4nSP - The world acclaimed H4n is now available in a new package.

Well, I'm not positive about whether it is discontinued or not but am going buy the latest remarks I've stumbled across on the 5 audio forums I'm trying to get info from. I know for fact that Sweetwater http://www.sweetwater.com/ had them a week or so ago then magically they are gone without a trace from there website, also at least 2 other large electronics/audio on-line shopping sites that slip my mind right now. The ad on zooms web page is definitely a year old at least, for 2015. Either way it isn't my intent to care about that, but yes it's not officially acknowledged, probably for some marketing reasons if such is the case. I didn't intentionally try to mislead.
    Thanks for the response-
