Hi All,
I was wondering if the interlacing applied in the AD conversion in the camera (PAL SD) syncs with the original source interlacing by default, does anyone have any comments?

What else could it do? The sequence of lines and fields is completely determined. If the camcorder doesn't get it right, the DV conversion won't look right.

Yes, you must remember that fundamentally, video in general and analog video in particular is a SERIAL, continuous stream of (modulated) lines. When the lines sweep back to the left or the top, it is very clear to the A/D that those are horizontal or vertical sync pulses, so it can easily keep sync (assuming it's not too degraded, but that's what TBCs & buffers are for).
